Michigan Pain Consultants (ProCare Pain Solutions) is hiring for a full-time Medical Assistant/Front Desk role for their Greenville clinic! GENERAL SUMMARY:
The Medical Assistant (MA)/ Front Desk functions in a clinical and administrative support role to assist the health care professional to ensure the delivery of quality health care services. This position is a hybrid role and will be working in either a front desk role or a clinical MA role based on daily needs. This role reports to the Clinical Coordinator.

REQUIREMENTS:

General:
Applicant must be available to and have means to travel as necessary for orientation, training, and for coverage at additional practice sites
Successful completion of orientation and required skill sets
CPR certification or acquisition within 90 days of employment

Education:
Minimum:

  • Certified / Registered Medical Assistant
  • Must maintain license/certification

Licenses, Certifications, and Registrations

  • Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) from the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA)
  • Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) from American Medical Technologists
  • National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) from the National Center for Competency Testing
  • Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA) from the National Healthcareer Association
  • Certified Medical Administrative Assistant (CMAA) from the National Healthcareer Association

Work Experience:

Minimum: One year of recent, relevant experience
Preferred: Demonstrated knowledge of surgical asepsis, Universal Precautions, MDPH and OSHA standards

MEDICAL ASSISTANT CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Clinical Skills

  • Collect patient assessment data pertaining to the physical, psychological, social, spiritual, and learning needs of the patient utilizing effective communication skills
  • Provide patient care, direct and indirect, under the supervision of the RN and in accordance with the practice standards
  • Perform efficiently in emergency situations following established standards, remaining calm, informing appropriate persons, and documenting events
  • Facilitate effective working relationships/communications with all members of health team to promote a consistent and efficient continuum of patient care.

Quality Management

  • Adhere to Universal Precautions guidelines
  • Conduct self in every area, personal and professional, with adherence to the highest ethical standards
  • Participate in quality management and clinical outcomes
  • Demonstrate awareness of and adherence to safety and legal requirements for nursing in pain management

Facilities / Equipment

  • Inform appropriate person of low supply and medication quantities
  • Demonstrate working knowledge of equipment
  • Use and maintain equipment following established standards
  • Follow established facility safety standards
  • Clean patient environment / work area / equipment according to protocol

FRONT DESK CHARACTERISTIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Check-in Standards
  • Verify demographic information (per site protocol)
  • Check all patient alert notes and follow instructions
  • Scan current insurance card
  • Uphold customer service standards
  • Maintain HIPAA confidentiality standards
  • Collect copay/balances
  • Check-out Standards:

  • Check all patient alert notes and follow instructions
  • Schedule follow up appointments
  • Schedule outside referrals
  • Remind patients to call clinic with questions or schedule changes

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Independently mobile

  • Frequent bending, kneeling, overhead lifting, pushing and pulling
