I want to take a few minutes to express to you how absolutely grateful I am for Dr. Willard and how much he has helped me with a chronic pain issue that certainly affects my day-to-day quality of life. I know that I can do what I do, which is work full time, spend quality time with my family and participate in activities with them, go to the gym to maintain and improve my health, and the volunteer work that is so important to me, because of the help I receive from him through MPC. I know there are many people who need this kind of help with chronic pain and who don’t have it. For me I know it is the difference in being able to live this kind of a quality-filled life or sitting all day, as chronic pain is exhausting without treatment.

I have been with Dr. Willard for a long time now. He was the only Dr. who made the effort to truly me get to the bottom of my chronic pain issues, helped me find medication that is effective but is the least interruptive of the things I need to do, and has found and recommended the therapy I have needed to help me function the best every day, which does not stop at the treatment I receive when I am in the office, but also includes my own efforts in taking care of my health as well.

To find a great Dr. who is so knowledgeable and is also kind and compassionate and great at what he does has been such a gift from God to me, and I am grateful every day for him and the entire MPC team. I have been treated so well by all of them, from the front desk to the nurses, techs and billing. You have many wonderful people working to serve others there, and they all represent MPC very well.

Dr. Lewis and the team of medical professions she works with to provide pain relief treatment are exceptional. Due to multiple back injuries and surgeries I have had, the nerve pain in my lower back and legs gets very debilitating. Dr. Lewis is great at looking at my pain history, current pain location and levels and then she determines what will be the best course of action. The treatment and recommendations I receive from Dr. Lewis and the MPC crew enables me to still do many of the things I enjoy with minimized pain.

I’ve been going to MPC for years and it is not hyperbole to say that Chuck Bray has saved my life. He has kept my pain bearable and helped me to remain as functional as possible while I have navigated diagnosis and treatment of a degenerative, disabling, autoimmune disease and cancer. Over the years he has exhibited a depth of knowledge about chronic illness/pain that is extremely rare, nearly unparalleled, in my decades of experience. I see a lot of specialists on a regular basis, Chuck is the single most valuable member of my care team when it comes to quality of life.

If you have CHRONIC PAIN… get a referral to Michigan Pain Consultants. I personally know how Chronic pain interferes with life, relationships, jobs, friends and more.

Dr. Gao and the rest of the team at Michigan Pain Consultants have profoundly improved my chronic pain. They actually understand what pain does to a person and they have many more ‘tools’ to treat it than your Primary Care Provider.

Their approach has been methodical and measured. But most importantly, they’ve taken time to understand what I was experiencing and applied a variety of methods to improve my personal situation. We’ve made more progress in the ~ 9 months I’ve been a patient there than in the ~10 preceding years at a variety of providers outside of Michigan where I previously lived.

Prior to their working on my issues, I had been treating the issues with “STRONG” pain meds… To be sure, Michigan is much more challenging (frustrating) to have and maintain access to such “STRONG” medications – but hey, that is on the state not the Doctor’s office….

Once that was sorted, I have honestly been truly surprised at how effective their treatments and approach to chronic pain management has been. Their treatment regime has made a fundamental difference in my life… and in what I have been able to do and take on. Even though I have pain… it’s SOOO much better today…

In closing – Pain is horrible. Dealing with insurance can also be horrible. But I truly believe that Michigan Pain Consultants knows how to navigate insurance and Michigan regulations – AND MOST IMPORTANTLY has multiple tools to diagnose, treat and manage pain.
